We cherish watching a young child discover and learn about God. Our prayer is that the below opportunities will lay a solid foundation for a lifelong relationship with our Savior.
Nursery (birth to 4-year-olds)
8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., The McCarty Early Learning Center
The McCarty Early Learning Center is open every Sunday morning providing a safe, secure place where children age 3 months through 4 years learn firsthand about Jesus’ love through hugs, smiles, songs and play. The nursery is also open for other church events and classes, usually by RSVP, and is furnished with cribs, tables, chairs and suitable toys and play equipment.
Children’s Chapel (4-year-olds through 2nd grade)
9 and 11 a.m. services, Winston McRae Chapel
Children are invited after the gospel reading to follow the cross from the church to the Chapel to experience music, prayers and a Bible story before returning to their families in the time for Communion.
Godly Play (potty-trained 3-year-olds through 2nd grade)
Sunday Mornings, 10–10:50 a.m., Hope House
Godly Play is a Montessori-based Christian Formation program which teaches children the stories of the Bible. In Godly Play, “shepherds” guide our children through storytelling, art, game and snack stations, which help the children become more aware of God’s presence in their daily lives.
Discovery Class (3rd grade)
Sunday Mornings, 10-10:50 a.m., Dempsey Chapel
The Discovery class focuses on the sacraments and rituals we observe as Episcopalians and teaches children about worship in a fun, interactive way. In addition to topics such as Baptism, Communion, and prayer, the children spend part of each class in Bible study.
Breakfast Clubs (4th, 5th, 6th & 7th grades)
Sunday Mornings, 10–10:50 a.m., Grace House
The Breakfast Clubs are separate for boys and girls as they study the Bible and learn how to apply the lessons to daily life. These classes use a variety of Bible-based curriculums and discuss social issues related to the age group. A light breakfast is provided.
