Summer Mission Trips

Senior high mission trip

Sunday, June 3 - Friday, June 8 | Bayou La Batre, AL

Youth will participate in home improvement projects for those in-need, elder care and children’s ministries. In the evenings, they will experience Dauphin Island, worship at a local church, tour Bayou La Batre and cookout near the water. The all inclusive cost is $550 per student. Please register by April 2.

Junior high mission trip

Sunday, June 24-Friday, June 29 | Taylorsville, NC

Youth will take part in work projects, run a Kids Club, help at a local nutrition program and support other ministries in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In the evenings, they will visit a cowboy church, experience the thrill of a homemade water park, hike to the top of Lowe’s Lookout and partake in a community cookout. The all inclusive cost is $550 per student. Please register by March 27.

Christian Formation

Senior High Sunday School 9th-12th grades

Sundays, 10-10:50 a.m., Youth Center

The Senior High class uses Living In Christ (LinC) to examine the latest music, movies, news and current events through a Biblical lens. The discussion-based classes equip students to evaluate their culture with a biblical perspective. A light breakfast is provided.

Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) 6th-12th grades

Sundays, Lori Schiavone Commons (Day School Campus)

EYC meets in the Schiavone Commons every Sunday evening during the school year from 5-8 p.m. for dinner, worship, and lots of fun and games. The 6th - 8th graders meet from 5-6 p.m. From 6-7 p.m., there is a combined (6th-12th grade) time of dinner and worship. The 9th-12th graders meet from 7-8 p.m. The youth groups also participate in scheduled service projects and fun events throughout the year.

Junior High EYC (6th-8th grades) meets 5-6 p.m.

Senior High EYC (9th-12th grades) meets 7-8 p.m.

EYC Bible Study 9th-12th grades

Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Youth Center

Students are guided on a journey through the Bible to translate its modern-day meaning and understand how it applies to everyday life. Students often follow the class with a casual dinner somewhere nearby the church.

Confirmation Class

8th grade and 9th–12th grade students who have not been confirmed.

Youth Center; Advance registration is required.

Youth Confirmation Class prepares our youth for the Bishop’s annual visitation in late spring, and takes place on Sunday mornings during Christian Formation. The Class lasts two semesters and covers three main topics: our Baptismal Covenant, Church history and discovering Spiritual Gifts. Confirmation class will also include a retreat in the spring. Attendance, the retreat, and some form of service to St. Mark’s during this program year are all required.
