From welcoming visitors and parishioners at church, to taking care of the Altar and reading scripture, there are many ways for youth and adults to participate in worship at St. Marks.
Acolytes
Young people rising 6 -12 grade who assist the clergy in the worship liturgy.
Altar Guild
Parishioners prepare the altars for all services; care for vestments, linens, silver and other appointments.
Chalice Bearers
Administer the wine during communion. Chalice Bearers must be licensed by the Diocese after required training.
Flower Guild
Select and arrange altar flowers.
Lectors
Read the scripture lessons appointed in the lectionary and the prayers of the people.
Ushers
Distribute bulletins, seat worshippers, collect offerings, and direct communicants to the altar rail.
Vergers Guild
Assist the priests in the organization and operation of worship services.
