Music
Music is a vital part of worship at St. Mark’s. Whether you're a participant in the choir, parishioner on a Sunday, or spectator at a concert, we pray that you will find meaning in the music.

Adult Choir
Open to adults and senior high students, St. Mark’s Choir is very committed to their ministry to the church. The choir sings regularly on Sunday mornings at the 11 a.m. service, at quarterly Choral Evensongs, and at festival services and concerts throughout the year.
The choir’s repertoire consists of the marvelous music of our Anglican heritage and classic choral music by composers such as Bach and Mozart, as well as other more "contemporary" music, such as spirituals and works by currently living composers, both American and English.
Rehearsals are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays. While the choir continues to sing most Sundays through the summer, it takes a break from mid-week rehearsals from roughly June until September. Choir is a big time commitment, but well worth it both in the fun you’ll have and in the satisfaction you’ll get from leading worship in such a meaningful way.
Children's Music Programs
The Cherub Choir
For children age 4 through second grade, the "cherubs" make up our youngest choir. Their rehearsals are part of our Children's Chapel program during the 9 and 11 a.m. services on Sundays - meaning no extra mid-week rehearsals for this group! All a child needs to do to participate is to come to either service on Sundays and go to Children's Chapel. During chapel, we sing songs, both old and new, and then sing some of them for everyone during the service about every six weeks.
St. Mark's Choristers
St. Mark’s Choristers is for children in the second grade and higher. It's purpose is to inspire a lifelong love of music, teach music fundamentals, and instill the importance of leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. St. Mark’s Choristers assist in musical leadership every 2nd and 4th Sunday at the 9 a.m. service.
The Choristers follow the Royal School of Church Music program in which they work through several levels of achievement (represented by colored ribbons) as they learn to sing, read music, and become leaders in worship. In addition to singing, various fun activities are offered, including a yearly choir camp.
Rehearsals are on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. This choir takes a break for the summer from roughly June until September.
Contemporary Music Team
The music incorporates contemporary and folk music, and even traditional hymns done in a "contemporary" way. Musicians of all ages and at all skill levels are encouraged to participate.
Rehearsals are at 8 a.m. on Sunday before the service at 9 a.m. The Contemporary Music Team takes a break for the summer from roughly June until September.
Handbell Choir - St. Mark's Ringers
Our church’s handbell choir plays a beautiful, three-octave set of Schulmerich handbells. St. Mark's Ringers add to worship on a monthly basis by providing beautiful handbell music for preludes and at communion.
This group is open to anyone from youth to adults. You don’t even have to be able to read music. As they say, "If you can count, you can play bells!" Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the church balcony. The choir takes a break for the summer from roughly June until September.
