11 a.m. Traditional Eucharist
On Christ the King Sunday, this sermon invites us to wrestle with the central question raised at the crucifixion: “Are you not the King?” Looking at Luke 23, we explore how every human heart is wired for a king—yet often crowns false ones that promise freedom but ultimately enslave. Through the contrasting responses of the two criminals crucified beside Jesus, we see a picture of rebellion, repentance, and the surprising grace of a King who reigns from a cross. This message challenges us to examine the throne of our own hearts and to discover that true freedom comes not from the absence of a king, but from the presence of the right King—Jesus, who remembers rebels and welcomes them into His kingdom.
