“Paid in Full: Fighting From the Victory of Christ” - 5pm The River Service
May 10, 2026 • The Rev. Billy Cerveny
This sermon uses the image of a bug-infested apartment to describe how life can feel chaotic and out of control, even when believers know Jesus is King. It explains that Peter points suffering Christians to the true throne of Christ, who has already defeated the spiritual powers of evil through His death, resurrection, and ascension. The message teaches that Christians do not fight for victory, freedom, acceptance, or love, but from the victory, freedom, acceptance, and love already secured in Jesus. Ultimately, it calls believers to enthrone Christ in their hearts and trust that, even in real trials and personal failures, Jesus has proclaimed over them: “paid in full.”
