The Serpent and the First Rebellion

Genesis 3 tells of two rebellions at once, humanity's and the serpent's. Reading the serpent through the divine council of 1 Kings 22 and the guardian cherub of Ezekiel 28, this session presents Satan as a created and already defeated rebel whose chief weapon is deception. God's question 'Who told you that?' exposes the lie behind our shame, and abiding in the truth becomes the believer's spiritual warfare.
