“The Secret of Contentment” - 10am Traditional Eucharist

Oct 11, 2026  •  The Rev. Charlie Holt

This sermon teaches that true joy, peace, and contentment are not determined by life's changing circumstances but are found through a deep and abiding relationship with Jesus Christ, who gives believers strength even in the midst of suffering, uncertainty, and anxiety. Drawing from Philippians 4, it offers three practical ways to experience God's peace: bringing our worries to Him through prayer and thanksgiving, intentionally focusing on what is good and praiseworthy, and finding encouragement through fellowship with other believers. Ultimately, the sermon reminds Christians that while life's difficulties cannot always be controlled or avoided, they can experience lasting contentment by trusting God's presence, recognizing His goodness even in hardship, and walking together as the body of Christ.
